Il est important de savoir que le Wi-Fi 6E n'est pas une norme entièrement nouvelle, mais une extension. À sa base, le Wi-Fi 6E est une extension de la norme sans fil Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) dans la bande de radiofréquences de 6 GHz.
Le Wi-Fi 6E repose sur le Wi-Fi 6, qui est la dernière génération de la norme Wi-Fi, mais seuls les périphériques et applications Wi-Fi 6E peuvent fonctionner dans la bande 6 GHz.
La sécurité de couche 3 dans WiFi 6E est la même que dans WiFi 5 ou 6, est un sentiment que le flux d'authentification Web ne diffère pas dans aucun scénario. La seule différence avec la sécurité de couche 3 dans WiFI 6E est le fait que tout WLAN dans WiFI 6E doit avoir une sécurité de couche 2 configurée avec WPA3 et PMF qui sont obligatoires dans WiFi 6E.

L'authentification Web est une solution de sécurité de couche 3 conçue pour fournir un accès invité facile et sécurisé aux hôtes sur WLAN avec authentification ouverte ou méthodes de sécurité de couche 2 appropriées.
Voici les différents types de méthodes d'authentification Web :
Local Web Authentication (LWA) : configuré en tant que sécurité de couche 3 sur le contrôleur, la page d'authentification Web et la liste de contrôle d'accès de pré-authentification sont configurées localement sur le contrôleur. Le contrôleur intercepte le trafic htttp(s) et redirige le client vers la page Web interne pour authentification. Les informations d'identification entrées par le client sur la page de connexion sont authentifiées par le contrôleur localement ou via un serveur RADIUS ou LDAP.
External Web Authentication (EWA) : configuré en tant que sécurité de couche 3 sur le contrôleur, le contrôleur intercepte le trafic http(s) et redirige le client vers la page de connexion hébergée sur le serveur Web externe. Les informations d'identification entrées par le client sur la page de connexion sont authentifiées par le contrôleur localement ou via un serveur RADIUS ou LDAP. La liste de contrôle d'accès de pré-authentification est configurée de manière statique sur le contrôleur.
Central Web Authentication (CWA) : configurés principalement en tant que sécurité de couche 2 sur le contrôleur, l'URL de redirection et la liste de contrôle d'accès de pré-authentification résident sur ISE et sont envoyés au contrôleur lors de l'authentification de couche 2. Le contrôleur redirige tout le trafic Web du client vers la page de connexion ISE. ISE valide les informations d'identification saisies par le client via HTTPS et authentifie l'utilisateur.

Traditionnellement, les points d'accès Wi-Fi et les WLAN invités utilisent la sécurité ouverte sans chiffrement ni authentification. La certification Wi-Fi CERTIFIED Enhanced Open définit une meilleure confidentialité des données dans les réseaux Wi-Fi ouverts.
Cette certification est basée sur le protocole Opportunistic Wireless Encryption (OWE). OWE est défini dans la norme IETF RFC 8110. Le protocole OWE intègre des mécanismes de cryptographie établis pour fournir à chaque utilisateur un cryptage individuel unique, protégeant ainsi l'échange de données entre l'utilisateur et le point d'accès.
L'OWE utilise le cryptage basé sur les algorithmes Diffie-Hellman pour configurer le cryptage sans fil. Avec OWE, le client et le point d'accès effectuent un échange de clés Diffie-Hellman au cours de la procédure d'accès et utilisent le secret PMK (Pairwise Master Key) résultant avec la connexion en 4 étapes.
Comme l'illustre le schéma suivant, une authentification et une association ouvertes standard se produisent, puis le processus d'échange en quatre étapes génère les clés nécessaires au chiffrement.

OWE est le successeur naturel d'un réseau ouvert dans WiFi 6E. Par conséquent, dans ce document, nous utilisons OWE comme sécurité de couche 2 pour la conformité WiFi6E.

La ligne directrice générale pour le dépannage est de collecter la trace RA en mode de débogage à partir du WLC en utilisant l'adresse mac du client en s'assurant que le client se connecte en utilisant l'adresse mac du périphérique et non une adresse mac randomisée.
Pour le dépannage Over the Air, la recommandation est d'utiliser AP en mode sniffer capturant le trafic sur le canal du client desservant AP.
