Introduction
This document describes details about the End of Software Maintenance and Last Day of Support dates for the NX-OS 6.2(x) minor release of NX-OS software running on Nexus 7000 and 7700 Series switches. This document also describes recommended actions for customers with Nexus 7000 or 7700 Series switches running the NX-OS 6.2(x) minor release of NX-OS software.

Background Information
The End-of-Sale and End-of-Life Announcement for the Cisco Nexus 7000 NX-OS 6.2 document published on March 18th of 2019 describes key dates surrounding the End-of-Sale and End-of-Life stages of the NX-OS 6.2(x) minor release of NX-OS software within the NX-OS software lifecycle. Within the announcement, dates for two important milestones are announced:
- End of Software Maintenance Releases Date: September 15th, 2020
- Last Day of Support Date: September 30th, 2024
This document describes details surrounding these two milestones, including what customers can and cannot expect for Nexus 7000 or 7700 Series switches running the NX-OS 6.2(x) minor release of NX-OS software.

End of Software Maintenance Release Date
The End of Software Maintenance Date (September 15th, 2020) is the last date that Cisco may release any final software maintenance releases or bug fixes. After this date, Cisco will no longer develop, repair, maintain, or test the product software. Furthermore, no further software maintenance releases will be released to fix security advisories or vulnerabilities discovered after the End of Software Maintenance Date.
Available Customer Actions
After the End of Software Maintenance Date, customers will be able to do the actions shown here:
- Open support cases with Cisco TAC and receive support for a Nexus 7000 or 7700 Series switch that is attached to a valid support contract while running the NX-OS 6.2(x) minor release of NX-OS software.
- Download NX-OS software releases applicable to Nexus 7000 or 7700 Series switches from Cisco's Software Download website.
Unavailable Customer Actions
After the End of Software Maintenance Release Date, customers will not be able to do the actions shown here:
- Customers will not be able to obtain new features, bug fixes, or vulnerability patches that are not explicitly included in the latest maintenance release of the NX-OS 6.2(x) minor release of NX-OS software, which is NX-OS software release 6.2(24a).
Last Day of Support Date
The Last Day of Support Date (September 30th, 2024) is the last date to receive applicable service and support for the product as entitled by active service contracts or by warranty terms and conditions. After this date, all support services for the product are unavailable, and the product becomes obsolete.

Unavailable Customer Actions
In addition to the Unavailable Customer Actions listed in the End of Software Maintenance Release Date section of this document, customers will not be able to do the actions shown here after the Last Day of Support Date:
- Customers will not be able to open support cases with Cisco TAC and receive support for a Nexus 7000 or 7700 Series switch while running the NX-OS 6.2(x) minor release of NX-OS software, even if the switch is attached to a valid, active support contract.
Recommended Action
Cisco recommends that customers with Nexus 7000 or 7700 Series switches running the NX-OS 6.2(x) minor release of NX-OS software affected by the End of Software Maintenance Releases and Last Day of Support dates consider an upgrade to the current recommended Cisco NX-OS software release for Cisco Nexus 7000 and 7700 Series switches. The current recommended Cisco NX-OS software release for Cisco Nexus 7000 and 7700 Series switches is documented in the Recommended Cisco NX-OS Releases for Cisco Nexus 7000 Series Switches document.
Customers can find NX-OS software upgrade instructions and supported upgrade paths documented in the release notes listed in the Cisco Nexus 7000 and 7700 Series Switch Release Notes document. Customers can find both supported non-ISSU (In-Service Software Upgrade) and ISSU upgrade paths to target NX-OS software releases within each individual release note.
