Objective

The objective of this document is to go through the indoor mounting options for the WAP571 wireless access point.

Indoor Mounting

Before we start, to ensure optimal performance, we advise you not to operate the device in an area that exceeds an ambient temperature of 104°F (40°C). To prevent overheating, both side panel vents should be unobstructed. The WAP571 should also be level, stable, and secure to prevent it from sliding or shifting out of position.

Materials Needed for Mounting

• Wall-Mount bracket
• 4 - screws (.22 to .24 by .69 to .72 inch)
• 4 - plastic expansion anchors (.31 to .33 by .86 to .88 inch)

Drilling Holes for Anchors into Wall/Ceiling

In this guide, we will be going over the wall mounting option; however, the same process can also be used for ceiling mounting.

First, determine the location you want to mount the device and ensure that the surface is flat, smooth, dry, and sturdy. 

Next, use the bracket to mark the position of the holes. Drill four holes into the wall at the locations marked. In this demonstration, we used a 3/16" drill bit to drill the holes. 

Inserting Anchors and Screws

Insert the plastic expansion anchors into the holes. Then, drill the screw into the anchor, leaving a small gap between the surface and the base of the screw’s head for the bracket. 

Aligning Mounting Bracket with Screws

After that, align the bracket with the screws and slide the bracket down until the screws fit snugly into the slots. Then, tighten the screws until the bracket is secure. 

Mounting WAP571 onto Bracket

Lastly, slide the WAP571 device onto the wall-mount bracket, placing the cable through the break-out tab found on the back of the bracket.
