The WAP571E Access Point can be mounted onto a pole or wall to provide outdoor coverage.
The objective of this document is to demonstrate the mounting options and features of the WAP571E.
For a full length demonstration of WAP571E Outdoor Mounting Options, please view the video below:
The following items are included in the WAP571E mounting kit:
Holder_1 bracket
Holder_2 bracket
Holder_3 bracket
(4) M6*130 screws
(12) M6*10 screws
(12) screw washers
Before mounting the WAP571E onto an outdoor pole or exterior wall, place Holder_1 on the back of the WAP571E and align the screw holes accordingly. Next, insert 4 M6*10 screws, with the 4 corresponding screw washers attached, through Holder_1 and into the screw holes located on the back of the WAP571E. Using an Allen wrench, tighten each screw and washer through the bracket until Holder_1 is attached to the back of the device. If there is a ground wire, fixing it onto the device, along with the bracket, can provide better electrostatic discharge protection. Your access point is now ready to be mounted on either a pole or wall.
Materials you will need for mounting the WAP571E to an outdoor pole:
The first step of pole mounting requires a small pole with a maximum diameter of 3”. After attaching Holder_1 to the device, take Holder_2 and Holder_3 and place them on opposite ends of the pole. Using the 4 M6*130 screws and washers, secure the brackets together such that they are fixed around the pole. Finally, mount the WAP571E to the pole by screwing their brackets together. Place the WAP571E’s Holder_1 bracket into the pole’s Holder_2 bracket such that their openings align. Take 4 M6*10 screws and washers and tighten them through the brackets until the WAP571E is successfully secured onto the pole.
For wall mounting, use the same materials from the mounting kit, with Holder_1 still attached to the back of the access point. First, position Holder_3 against the wall where you want to mount the device. Identify where the holes will need to be drilled based on the 4 openings of the bracket. After drilling the holes, use the 4 sheet-metal screws to fix the bracket piece against the wall. If you are mounting to drywall, it might be helpful to use the anchors included with the kit. Next, align Holder_2 with Holder_3 and use 4 M6*10 screws and screw washers to secure the two pieces together. Finally, mount the WAP571E to the wall by placing the attached Holder_1 bracket within Holder_2. Once again, make sure the openings align such that one can insert 4 M6*10 screws and washers, and then tighten them to fix the brackets together.
This concludes our tutorial on outdoor mounting options for the WAP571E. To provide consistent coverage for an outdoor location, the WAP571E can be fixed onto a pole or wall within the area. With the appropriate tools and mounting kit, either option can be quickly and easily established.
