Introduction
This document describes how to identify what version of the AsyncOS is running on the Email Security Appliance (ESA), Web Security Appliance (WSA), or Security Management Appliance (SMA).
How do I determine which version of software is running on my appliance?
When dealing with Cisco Support, you may be asked for the version of the AsyncOS being run on the appliance. The AsyncOS version can be identified from one of the locations listed below:
- Web Interface Login Page.
- "System Status" Page in the Web Interface.
- "Upgrade" Page in the Web Interface.
- Command Line Interface options.
Web Interface Login Page
When logging into an appliance, the login splash page will show the version under the appliance description and above the "Username" field.
System Status Page in the Web Interface
After logging into the appliance, the version information can be found on the "System Status" Page. Appliance specific directions are shown below.
- ESA
- Select "Monitor -> System Status" from the menu.
- Look under the "System Status" section for "Operating System".
- WSA
- Select "Reporting -> System Status" from the menu.
- Look under the "Current Configuration" section for "Version".
- SMA
- Select "Management Appliance -> Centralized Services -> System Status" from the menu.
- Look under the "System Information" section for "Operating System".
Upgrade Page in the Web Interface
After logging into the appliance, the version information can be found on the "Upgrade" Page. Appliance specific directions are shown below.
- ESA
- Select "System Administration -> System Upgrade" from the menu.
- Look under the "Upgrade System" section for "Current AsyncOS Version".
- WSA
- Select "System Administration -> System Upgrade" from the menu.
- Look under the "Upgrade System" section for "Current AsyncOS Version".
- SMA
- Select "Management Appliance -> System Administration -> System Upgrade" from the menu.
- Look under the "Upgrade System" section for "Current AsyncOS Version".
Command Line Interface options
Within the Command Line Interface, there are two options that will show the current running version as noted below
Using the "version" command (Highlighted in Yellow below):
