Certain Network Convergence System (NCS) 5500 Series units listed in the Products Affected section might have earlier solid state drive (SSD) firmware versions that could experience file system/disk corruption or uncorrectable errors. This is specific to these two SSD series and firmware versions:
An engineering failure analysis concludes that the impacted firmware versions are susceptible to failure scenarios and will exhibit failure symptoms as described in the Problem Symptom section.
This issue might cause these problems:

commands, any commit changes, and install operations. The Route Switch Processor (RSP) can go into a boot loop after reboot.In order to avoid the issues listed in the Problem Symptom section, Cisco recommends installation of a Software Maintenance Upgrade (SMU) for the Cisco IOS® XR version which you currently run.
These SMUs are available to help you upgrade the system.

If the device model matches your device and the firmware version is anything other than D0MU075, an upgrade is recommended.
Cisco provides a tool to verify whether a device is impacted by this issue. In order to check the device, enter the device's serial number in the Serial Number Validation Tool.
