CSCvm36748 | Crash at expired "FED MAC AGING TIMER", "undefined" or "unknown" timer. |
Some Catalyst switches that run on Polaris Releases 16.9.1, 16.6.4, and 16.3.7 or earlier might crash due to the Forwarding Engine Driver (FED) process. For example, C3850-48XS or C9500 Series products.
The system will crash due to memory corruption in the “timer” structure used by the FED process. This issue can occur if a switchover is completed or the Stackwise Virtual Link (SVL) flaps.
The system will crash unexpectedly due to the FED process.
In order to fix the issue, upgrade the running software release to the fixed release.
