CSCvk03838 | Optimization not working between 623e and other released versions. |
In a network with a mixed Wide Area Application Services (WAAS) environment, devices that run WAAS Version 6.2.3e (Build 43) do not interoperate with other WAAS versions. Therefore, the WAAS optimized connections between these devices cannot be established.
WAAS devices can interoperate with different WAAS versions within the network. However, due to a software caveat in WAAS Version 6.2.3e (Build 43), interoperability between different WAAS versions is impacted. This has been rectified in the latest version, WAAS 6.2.3e (Build 45).
A connection is not established between WAAS Version 6.2.3e (Build 43) and other WAAS released versions and hence WAAS optimization does not work.
If you have a mixed WAAS environment with some WAAS devices that run WAAS Version 6.2.3e (Build 43), Cisco recommends that you upgrade all your WAAS devices to WAAS Version 6.2.3e (Build 45). For details on how to upgrade your network to WAAS Version 6.2.3e, see "Release Note for Cisco Wide Area Application Services (Software Version 6.2.3x)", section Upgrading from a WAAS Release Version to Version 6.2.3x.
If you have upgraded your entire network to WAAS 6.2.3e (Build 43), Cisco bug ID CSCvk03838 does not impact your system and no further steps are required.
