The installation of CSA Version 5.0 (216.4.2) on a MCS-OS-2003.1.1 (or 2003.1.2) Operating System running on a HP Server (7845-H1, 7845-H2, or 7845-H3) modifies a Key Value related to Memory Manager of Windows. This installation changes the registry key.
HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management\SystemPages
from the desired setting of 0x00C3000 to 0x0 (Windows default value).
The result of this change is a reduction in size of the available Page Table Entry (PTE) pool which has a detrimental effect on the applications running.
The Cisco Security Agent Version 5.0 installation script sets the registry value.
HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management\SystemPages
to Zero (0) (default value) for Win 2003 only.
This modification in the registry value results in insufficient PTE [Page Table Entry] pools available for some applications to operate correctly after CSA is installed.
The symptom of this problem is that the Node Manager service of Unified CCX application will not start, resulting in all the other services of the application to be down.
The solution to this issue is to install the new CSA kit with version 5.0.0.217-3.0.6 or later.
If a later version of CSA is not installed, a workaround to this issue is to download a zip file from http://www.cisco.com/cgi-bin/tblbld/tablebuild.pl?swpath=171f2ec2774a35cec1bad082ee1b3bd5 (registered customers only).
After downloading, follow the instructions in the ReadMe file and restart the server.
