Affects all PIDs using ROMMON 1.40 and above |
The Field Diagnostic tests will not run correctly when trying to test Fabric cards or Distributed Route Processors (DRPs) installed in a CRS router. The Router must be running ROMMON 1.40 or above for this behavior to be observed.
Note: XR12000-series routers are not affected.
Field Diagnostics were not released on IOS-XR for ROMMON 1.40 and higher, and a new Software Maintenance Update (SMU) is needed in order to enable Diagnostics to work on IOS-XR Releases for CRS-1 Products.
The following error messages may be observed:
RP/0/RP1/CPU0: fabricq_mgr[173]: %DRIVERS -FABRICQ-6-SPI_FBP : Minor error: Cluster: 0 in Fabricq ASIC 0 has SPI FBP Link Down error RP/0/RP0/CPU0: fabricq_mgr[173]: %DRIVERS -FABRICQ-4-ERR_ASIC_MBE : Fabricq Asic 0 detected multibit error(s). Details: FI Link 3 RP/0/RP0/CPU0: fabricq_mgr[173]: %DRIVERS -FABRICQ-6-SPI_FBP : Minor error: Cluster: 0 in Fabricq ASIC 0 has SPI FBP Link Down error RP/0/RP0/CPU0: fsdb_aserver[183]: %FABRIC-FSDB-1-PLANE_UPDOWN : Plane 0 state changed to DOWN; RP/0/RP0/CPU0: shelfmgr[315]: %PLATFORM-SHELFMGR-6-USER_RESET : Node 0/SM0/SP is reset due to user reload request
In order to verify which version of ROMMON code is present on the router, issue the following command in 'admin' mode:
(admin)#show diag | inc NODE|PLIM|ROMMON RP/0/RP0/CPU0:CRS-A (admin)#sh diag | inc NODE|PLIM|ROMMON NODE 0/0/SP : MSC(SP) ROMMON: Version 1.40(20060413:010151) [CRS-1 ROMMON] PLIM 0/0/CPU0 : 4OC192-POS/DPT ROMMON: Version 1.40(20060413:002654) [CRS-1 ROMMON] NODE 0/2/SP : MSC(SP) ROMMON: Version 1.40(20060413:010151) [CRS-1 ROMMON] PLIM 0/2/CPU0 : 8-10GbE ROMMON: Version 1.40(20060413:002654) [CRS-1 ROMMON]
Fix: Contact TAC for the appropriate SMU Number listed below:
Rel 3.3.0: Ask for SMU AA01538
Rel 3.3.1: Ask for SMU AA01537
Rel 3.2.6: Ask for SMU AA01539
Note: For systems running IOS-XR Rel 3.2.x, downgrading to ROMMON 1.38 will enable the diagnostics package to run correctly. This is not advised for systems running IOS-XR Rel 3.3.x.
