Cisco has confirmed that CVE-2023-20044 does not affect Cisco CX Cloud Agent when a release earlier than Release 2.2 was installed from an open virtual appliance (OVA) file and then upgraded to Release 2.2.

A vulnerability in Cisco CX Cloud Agent could allow an authenticated, local attacker to elevate their privileges on an affected device. This vulnerability is due to insecure file permissions. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by calling the script with the sudo command. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to take complete control of the affected device.
