Cisco Integrated Management Controller (IMC) Supervisor and Cisco UCS Director contain a remote file overwrite vulnerability that could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to overwrite arbitrary system files, resulting in system instability or a denial of service (DoS) condition.
Cisco has released software updates that address this vulnerability.
Workarounds that mitigate this vulnerability are not available.

This vulnerability affects the following two Cisco products:
- Cisco IMC Supervisor prior to software version 1.0.0.1
- Cisco UCS Director (formally known as Cloupia Unified Infrastructure Controller) prior to software version 5.2.0.1

No other Cisco products are currently known to be affected by this vulnerability.

A vulnerability in JavaServer Pages (JSP) input validation routines of the Cisco IMC Supervisor and Cisco UCS Director could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to overwrite arbitrary files on the system.
The vulnerability is due to incomplete input sanitization on specific JSP pages. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending crafted HTTP requests to the affected system. An exploit could allow the attacker to overwrite arbitrary system files resulting in system instability.
Systems running default configurations are affected.
This vulnerability is documented in Cisco bug ID CSCus36435 (registered customers only) for the Cisco IMC Supervisor and Cisco bug ID CSCus62625 (registered customers only) for the Cisco UCS Director and has been assigned Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE) ID CVE-2015-6259.

In all cases, customers should ensure that the devices to be upgraded contain sufficient memory and confirm that current hardware and software configurations will continue to be supported properly by the new release. Cisco IMC Supervisor
All versions prior to software version 1.0.0.1 are affected.
Customers running software version 1.0.0.0 should apply the 1.0.0.1 or later patch to their systems. Cisco UCS Director

Software version 5.3.0.0 contains the fix.
Customers running versions prior to 5.2.0.1 should upgrade to either 5.2.0.1 or later or 5.3.0.0 or later.
Customers running version 5.2.0.0 should apply patch 5.2.0.1 or later. The patch is available from the Cisco Software Center at the following URL:
