Cisco RSVP Agent integrates call-processing capabilities with the underlying network infrastructure to deliver call admission control and quality of service for Cisco Unified Communications Manager deployments. Cisco RSVP Agent employs Resource Reservation Protocol (RSVP), an IETF standards-based signaling protocol for reserving bandwidth in an IP network.

Cisco RSVP Agent offers performance, availability, and reliability for demanding enterprise environments. It provides:
- Guaranteed WAN bandwidth for Cisco Unified Communications Manager calls
- Support for complex network topologies, including meshed designs, redundant links, and dynamically changing topologies
- A physical and logical data, voice, and video network design to simplify deployments, lower infrastructure and management costs
- Better control of the quality and availability of voice and video calls, as well as authorization of calls
- Support for SIP, H323, Media Gateway Control Protocol (MGCP), and Skinny Client Control Protocol (SCCP) call signaling

Cisco RSVP Agent is now integrated with no incremental license fees on the following products and solutions:
- Cisco Integrated Services Routers Generation 2 with at least one of the following licenses:
- Voice
- Cisco Unified Border Element
- Cisco Unified Communications Manager Express
- Cisco ASR 1000 Series Aggregation Services Routers with Cisco Unified Border Element licenses
