Cisco Systems® announces the end-of-sale and end-of life dates for the Cisco Catalyst 6500 Series Supervisor Engine 2 Related Memory Modules. The last day to order the Cisco Catalyst 6500 Series Supervisor Engine 2 Related Memory Modules is November 9, 2007. Customers with active service contracts will continue to receive support from the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) as shown in Table 1 of the EoL bulletin. Table 1 describes the end-of-life milestones, definitions, and dates for the Cisco Catalyst 6500 Series Supervisor Engine 2 Related Memory Modules. Table 2 lists the product part numbers affected by this announcement.

Since these are accessories specific to the Cisco Catalyst 6500 Series Supervisor Engine 2,there are no replacement products. Customers are encouraged to migrate to the Cisco Catalyst 6500 Series Supervisor Engine 720 or Supervisor Engine 32. Supervisor Engine 720 has a higher performance in an integrated switch fabric module and offers hardware support for advanced features such as IPv6,MPLS,GRE,NAT,and ERSPAN. Supervisor Engine 32 offers hardware support for most of the same robust feature set as Supervisor Engine 720 at a performance optimized for wiring closets.
