Cisco Systems® announces the end-of-sale dates for the CISCO7206VXR/NSE-1 Bundle. The last day to order the CISCO7206VXR/NSE-1 Bundle is April 20, 2001. Customers will continue to receive support from the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) until otherwise specified by a component-specific end-of-life announcement or new Product ID. Table 1 describes the end-of-life milestones, definitions, and dates for the CISCO7206VXR/NSE-1 Bundle. Table 2 lists the product part numbers affected by this announcement.

Product Migration Options
The customer can choose any of the suggested migration products depending on the performance/feature requirements. The 7206VXR/NPE-G2 bundle provides the highest performance amongst the suggested migration products with the Network Processing Engine NPE-G2 providing up to 2 Million packets per second (Mpps). The Cisco 7200 Network Processing Enginer NPE-G2 is the most recent addition to the Cisco 7200VXR Series processor family.
The Network Processing Engine NPE-G2:
• Addresses the demand for performance and flexibility by dramatically increasing processing capacity and enabling unprecedented LAN performance
• Increases flexible processing to two million packets per second
• Maximizes LAN performance with three onboard GE/FE ports
• Increases scalability by supporting up to 2 GB of DRAM
• Offering USB ports for etoken and USB flash support
• Reduces system cost by eliminating the requirement for an I/O controller
• Maintains application flexibility and investment protection by supporting existing 7200 features at an unprecedented value.
