Cisco Systems offers the most up-to-date, high-performing, feature-rich, midrange router security bundles, with the Cisco® VPN Acceleration Module 2+ (VAM2+) router security bundles available on Cisco 7200 Series and Cisco 7301 routers.
Bundle part numbers are listed in Table 1. Bundles include Cisco IOS
® Software with the IP Security (IPSec), firewall, and intrusion detection system (IDS) feature set.

With the addition of the VAM2+ security bundles, Cisco is also announcing the end of life of two specific Cisco 7200 NPE-400 router security bundles. The last day to order these bundles is December 15, 2005. Customers will continue to receive support from the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) until otherwise specified by a component-specific end-of-life announcement. This announcement refers only to the bundling of the components. Table 2 describes the end-of-life milestones, definitions, and dates associated with this announcement. Table 3 lists the product numbers affected by this announcement.
Customers are encouraged to migrate to any of the current Cisco 7200 Series security bundles, providing improved performance and scalability for security services. For information on the latest Cisco 7200 Series security bundles, visit:

The last date to order the bundle through Cisco point-of-sale mechanisms. The product is no longer for sale after this date.

Last Shipment Date
The last-possible date that Cisco and/or its contract manufacturers will ship the affected bundle.

End of Software Maintenance Releases Date
The last date that Cisco Engineering may release any final software maintenance releases or bug fixes. After this date, Cisco Engineering will no longer develop, repair, maintain, or test the product software.
Support will continue as part of standard services-and-support contract for Cisco 7200 Series routers
Last Date of Support
The last date to receive service and support for the product. After this date, all support services for the product are unavailable, and the product becomes obsolete.
